Bug Fixes: Export, Parallel Track, Clearance Profile

  • PDF export now works again for large layouts. Previously, when exporting layouts with several hundred tracks, the process would fail with an error message, and the suggestion to try saving as a PDF didn’t help. The PDF is now generated even for large layouts. If necessary, Trackplanner will generate a PNG of very large layouts at a lower resolution and will notify you of this.
  • The Parallel Track button now appears even for track systems without curved tracks. In systems with flexible track but without two fixed radii (for example, Peco Code 55 in N gauge), it was missing. Trackplanner determines the track spacing there based on the NEM standard for the respective gauge.
  • Fewer false positives in the clearance check. Straight tracks laid side by side at the recommended track spacing—such as directly behind a turnout—are no longer flagged as a problem by the check when vehicles are entered.
  • The “Clear Height” check now uses the correct dimensions. Previously, it assumed a vehicle profile that was one step too low: 45 mm instead of 59 mm in H0, and 59 mm instead of 65 mm with overhead wires (correspondingly for other gauges, according to NEM 102). It now flags underpasses that are too low. This does not change the heights saved in your plans. If a crossing is too low according to the new measurement, you’ll receive a notification suggesting that you “raise the crossing.”
