Planning Elevations Using Anchors Instead of Grade Per Track
You now set elevations at fixed points, called elevation anchors. The Track Planner distributes the gradient evenly between them based on track length. Turnouts are automatically laid horizontally, ensuring that a station remains level, and the plan maintains the clearance height at crossings.
- Elevation Profile: Clicking on a point displays the elevation and rounding of that bend; you can enter the gradient of a section directly.
- Anchors in the Plan: small diamonds in each tool; conflicts are marked in red.
- Rounding per bend: Can be turned on or off; the length depends on your fleet. A new warning alerts you to bends that are too sharp for long cars.
- Bridges: The suggestion already shows the new elevations in the 3D view, including embankments, and routes ramps even over turnouts.
Existing plans are imported upon opening without any changes to elevations. Trackplanner compensates for small elevation changes at track joints (up to 1 cm). For larger changes, it breaks the connection, and the plan check displays an open end at that location.
